The Tarot of Trees is an independently published deck created by the artist by Dana Driscoll. Her site is here and her work is simply stunning.
Water coloured backgrounds and bold outlines Trees are the main subjects of the Tarot, they are the centre, the focus. Each of the Minor Arcana have a different season which corresponds with the theme of the suit.
The Swords are Autumn, The Wands are Summer, The Pentacles are Winter and The Cups are Spring. The cards are basic but also very beautiful, I am not sure they would be very easy for a novice to read with, as there is not a lot of symbology or characters in the cards to help trigger meaning memories. If you know the basic meanings to each of the Tarot Cards then it will help!
The book is full coloured and really easy to read. The set is really good quality, better than some of the decks that are released by major publishers.
The Nine of Cups card depicts a very happy tree Diva holding the nine cups in her branches is a stunning card and the Six of Pentacles has a very cute representation of the meaning of the card, which is inheritance or money being shared out.
The Four of Swords shows I tree leaning on four swords resting against them and allowing them to support the weight of the tree. I think it is a excellent representation of the theme of the card which is about rest.
Dana has created a really lovely deck one which I think is going to be a happy addition to my collection. I just love the feel of them as well, they are smaller than playing cards and easy to shuffle.
